112 WORKSHOP / 112 GREEN STREET - WHITE COLUMNS

112 Workshop/112 Greene Street was "activated" [reference: Julie Ault] in 1970 in a building owned by Jeffery Lew who ran the space with Gordon Matta-Clark. This locatoin offered raw exhibition spaces for varied installations and performances. In 1980, after needing to close 112 Greene Street, it relocated to 325 Spring Street and was renamed White Columns. White Columns moved again to a storefront at 142 Christopher Street, and then to 154 Christopher Street. and presently is located at West 13th Street.
